Summary of 1 Peter 2:13–25:
Peter instructs believers to submit to human authority—for the Lord’s sake—whether kings or governors. This submission silences ignorance and demonstrates godly character. Freedom in Christ is not an excuse for rebellion. Christians are called to endure suffering righteously, even when unjust. Peter points to Jesus as the perfect example: though innocent, He suffered without retaliation, bearing our sins to bring healing and salvation.
Preaching Highlights
Submission for God’s Sake: Obedience to authority reflects trust in God’s order.
Freedom with Responsibility: Christian liberty is not license to do wrong, but a call to serve.
Enduring Unjust Suffering: True faith is revealed when we do right and still suffer patiently.
Christ’s Example: Jesus didn’t retaliate; He trusted God and bore our sins for our healing.
Return to the Shepherd: We were once lost, but have now come under Christ’s care and guidance.
