Galatians 1 | Allen Freet

Updated: Sep 30, 2024

Galatians chapter 1 introduces Paul's defense of his apostleship and the true gospel. Paul expresses astonishment at how quickly the Galatians are turning to a different gospel, which is not truly good news. He emphasizes that his message was given to him by revelation from Jesus Christ, not by human instruction. Paul recounts his former life of persecuting the church, his conversion, and how God called him by grace to preach to the Gentiles.

Highlights:

1. Paul’s warning against turning to a different gospel, as there is only one true gospel.

2. Paul clarifies that his apostleship is not from men, but through Jesus Christ.

3. Paul's testimony of transformation: from persecuting the church to being an apostle to the Gentiles.

Life Applications:

1. Stay rooted in the true gospel of Christ and be discerning about teachings that deviate from the truth.

2. Recognize that God calls and uses people, regardless of their past, to accomplish His purposes.

3. Like Paul, embrace God’s grace in your life, understanding that your value and calling come from Him, not from others.m history, such as the Israelites who did not believe, fallen angels, and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, to illustrate the consequences of disobedience and godlessness.
